What are cookies? 

Cookies are text files, that are sent by web pages when a user is browsing them and are subsequently saved on the user’s computer. Information contained in cookies is only readable to the webpage, that has created them and the webpage has no access to other files on the user’s computer. 

 

Types of cookies used by WAGAS S.A. 

Web pages  at wagas.pl, wagas.eu and WAGAS S.A.’s mobile apps can use two types of cookies: 

 

  • Permanent cookies remain in operation until either a user removes them manually, or they expire after a period set in the file’s parameters.  
  • Session cookies only remain on the user’s device either until the web browser is closed, or the user leaves the webpage. 

The purpose of using cookies 

Cookies used by our web pages enable the display of relevant information, personalization of content, and measurement of users’ interactions. Cookies are also used to adjust and improve user experience.   

 

Examples of how cookies are used on our web pages and in the app: 

  • Adjustment of ads transmitted on our web pages and in the app; 
  • Analysis of user’s preferences and activity on our web pages and in the app; 
  • Personalization of ads, showed on advertising networks, for example, on Google (remarketing); 
  • Measuring the performance of actions, conducted for the benefit of the insurer, for example, on Google, in affiliate networks and partnership programs;  
  • Implementation of files, belonging to third parties, for example, affiliate networks using Google Tag Manager, click here for more information; 
  • Remembering that a user has denied their permission to show them certain content in the future.   

Cookies of outside partners 

We use or might use in the future cookies of third parties, i.e. cookies, placed on our webpage or in the app by our partners, like: 

  • Google 
  • Facebook 
  • Hotjar 

 

Cookies and analysis of the users’ activities and behavior 

We use advertising services and functions provided by Google Inc.’s Google Analytics to analyze and improve the functionality of our webpage and app. Google Analytics uses cookies for analyzing the way users use web pages and creating aggregate statistics/visitor reports. On top of that, thanks to the Advertising Function of Google Analytics we can: 

  • Apply Google Analytics in remarketing activities;  
  • Prepare impression report for the Google advertising network; 
  • Prepare Interest and Demographics Reports in Google Analytics; 
  • Use integrated services, that require Google Analytics to collect data for advertising purposes, including the use of identifiers and advertising cookies. 

You can use advertising settings in Google at any time, including turning off advertising personalization, which allows Google to use information about your activity on the Google account, information stored in Google services (like Search and YouTube), and browsing data from Google partners’ websites and applications. You can change your advertising settings here. 

 

If you do not want Google Analytics to collect data related to your activity on our web pages, then you can use a browser plugin to block Google Analytics. You can download and install a free plugin here. Google Analytics will not be collecting any data about your browsing, while you will still be able to use our web pages.
